When the grid goes down, rural life must keep moving.
Rural Power Forward is an independent rural-energy field laboratory and media platform. It assembles manufacturers, researchers, disaster practitioners, agricultural partners, community organizations and storytellers to test how electric transportation and distributed-energy systems perform under realistic rural-outage conditions. It turns technical capabilities into understandable stories, measured operational evidence and replicable deployment models that farms, schools, nonprofits and disaster-serving organizations can finance and operate.
Test it in the field. Measure what matters. Share what works.
Pilot region: Mendocino and Lake counties, California. All field tests described are proposed; none has been conducted yet.
